Award description

The Camosun Empowering Women in Trades initiative was generously established by The Gwyn Morgan & Patricia Trottier Foundation, Concert Properties, the Washington Foundation and the RBC Foundation in 2017 to support trades training opportunities for women seeking to complete Red Seal apprenticeships in trades such as welding, sheet metal, mechanical, and construction.

Support may be available to assist with:

  • Educational costs (tuition, student fees, books and supplies)
  • Living cost supports (including housing costs)
  • Transportation costs
  • Child care costs
  • Assistance with tools and protective equipment as needed for work
  • Mentorship

Criteria

Criteria

To apply students must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be enrolled in a聽Red Seal trades program聽at 吃瓜爆料
  • Be a female trade student (or plan on enrolling as a student)
  • Be able to demonstrate financial need

Camosun Women in Trades Training (WITT) offers sponsorship for eligible and selected women in their pursuit of becoming a tradesperson.
