VICTORIA, B.C. – The following statement was issued by �Թϱ��� president Dr. Lane Trotter in response to a rally held by the �Թϱ��� Faculty Association (CCFA) prior to the Board of Governors meeting on April 14, 2025.

“At the April 14, 2025, Board meeting, �Թϱ���’s Board of Governors approved the college’s budget for the fiscal year 2025/26 with total revenue of $171,955,297 and total expenditure of $171,955,297, resulting in a balanced budget.”

“This follows months of dialogue about how best to address the unanticipated shortfall caused by federal reforms affecting international student enrolments. Throughout this process, our focus has been on preserving core educational functions and ensuring programs are responsive to the needs of students, employers and industry, while we responsibly manage our budget.”

"We acknowledge and respect the concerns expressed at the rally held this evening. We recognize that balancing the budget can bring uncertainty for our campus community, and we remain committed to transparent communication with our students and employees.”
