Camosun offers programs designed especially for Indigenous learners plus a wide variety of courses with Indigenous content.

Priority seating

For a limited time each year, 勛圖惇蹋 offers priority seating for qualified Indigenous students in 硃梭梭泭Health Sciences and Human Services programs. This includes Allied Health and Technologies; Continuing Care; Community, Family & Child Studies; Dental and Nursing programs. Learn more about Priority seats for Health Programs.

Academic Upgrading

Certificate

Offers English, math and basic computer studies which include Indigenous components designed to meet the needs of Indigenous students.

Archaeological Field Assistant

唬梗娶喧勳款勳釵硃喧梗泭- 4 weekends and 3 evenings

Develop the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to work on archaeological dig sites. If you are a First Nations community member interested in participating in cultural resource management within a traditional territory, you'll find this intensive program useful. Offered once a year in May. Includes weekend field experience.

Health Care Assistant - Indigenous

唬梗娶喧勳款勳釵硃喧梗泭- 7 months

Learn to provide care to families and individuals in First Nations and Indigenous communities. You'll be qualified to work as part of a health care team at any level of continuing care. This program is offered every few years.

Indigenous Community Wellness

唬梗娶喧勳款勳釵硃喧梗泭- 10 months

Prepare to support concepts of Indigenous wellness within agencies and community organizations that serve Indigenous peoples.泭Delivered at the,part of the W戔SNE School Boardlocated on the Tsartlip First Nation.

Indigenous Studies

嗨勳梯梭棗鳥硃泭- 2-2.5 years

Develop the knowledge, skills, awareness and values needed to work with Indigenous individuals and families in schools and communities.

Indigenous College Prep

Certificate -8 months

Held in local First Nations communities, this certificate prepares Indigenous students for entrance into college-level courses and programs.

  • Take courses including Intermediate math (Grade 10)
  • UCEP (University College Entrance Preparation) fundable by bands

Take individual courses

If you only need a course or two Camosun offers alternative upgrading courses in English, math, biology, chemistry and physics offered in partnership with the School of Arts and Science

The following courses are available toall Camosun students. In some programs, a percentage of seats may be reserved for program participants. These courses are indicated with an * after the course title.

While all courses may not be indigenized, you can bring an Indigenous lens to your learning through your assignments.泭Courses like ART 150 or GEOG 102 or independent study courses allow the flexibility to approach your studies with an Indigenous perspective.
